Clarvia helps bereaved families navigate urgent administrative steps with free, multilingual and accessible guidance.
Clarvia is a Luxembourg non-profit developing a free, multilingual service for families after the loss of a loved one.
When someone dies, families are suddenly expected to manage documents, institutions, deadlines, funeral matters, succession-related questions, and sometimes cross-border procedures. All while they are grieving. The information often exists, but it is scattered across official websites, written in technical language, and difficult to navigate at a time when people have the least capacity to search.
Clarvia turns this complexity into clear, practical checklists that explain what needs to be done, what may be urgent, which documents are required, and where to find qualified support. Our aim is to make this guidance accessible regardless of language, nationality, income, family situation, or personal network.
The platform and its underlying administrative workflow model are being developed as open-source public-interest infrastructure so that others can also reuse and improve the work.
Most people will face this responsibility at some point. No one should have to figure it out alone.
