To protect, shelter and care for abandoned or distressed animals, promote responsible adoption and raise awareness of animal welfare.
SEPA asbl operates the animal shelter in Esch-sur-Alzette. Our mission is to welcome, protect, care for and support abandoned, found, seized or distressed animals, with the aim of providing them with the best possible living conditions and, whenever possible, finding them a suitable new home.
The shelter mainly takes care of dogs and cats and provides for their daily needs, including feeding, veterinary care, hygiene, socialisation, walks and preparation for adoption.
Our work is supported by a team of employees, a volunteer management committee, as well as numerous volunteers and dog walkers. Their commitment is essential to the proper functioning of the shelter and to the well-being of the animals. SEPA also carries out awareness-raising activities on animal protection and welfare and works together with municipalities, public authorities and various partners.
We regularly organise “Social Walks”, mainly at weekends, with dogs from our shelter. These group walks help the dogs with socialisation, physical activity and adaptation to different environments, while also offering volunteers and dog walkers an opportunity to spend time together around animal welfare.
In addition, SEPA occasionally organises open days, awareness campaigns, fundraising activities, public meetings and other events aimed at promoting the shelter, encouraging responsible adoption, supporting our animals and strengthening volunteer involvement.
