For over 50 years, SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde has been working from Luxembourg to ensure the care, well-being, and development of children around the world. To achieve this, it raises public awareness, collects and manages funds, implements development programmes, supports emergency relief and rehabilitation programmes, and provides technical expertise. In addition, it promotes sustainable development and global citizenship and conducts advocacy work.
It can rely on its public and private partners, its donors, its sponsors (engaged in more than 100 countries), and its volunteers.
Currently involved in projects with social, educational, or environmental dimensions, the organization is engaged in long-term development programmes focused on child protection and children’s rights, community dynamics, and social cohesion in West Africa and Uzbekistan.
In emergency contexts, it commits for the long term wherever conflicts, natural disasters, and major crises (refugee crisis, climate crisis, COVID-19 crisis) endanger the lives of children and their communities, working to protect them, support their recovery, and strengthen their resilience.
For SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde, every child deserves a place within a family and the opportunity to grow up with love, respect, and security.
Courage, commitment, trust, and responsibility are the values that underpin our work. Respect, integrity, transparency, and rigor guide our actions. We ensure that gender equality as well as environmental and social responsibility are upheld.
