As the Luxembourg climbing federation, our main objective is to promote climbing in Luxembourg and to make the sport accessible and safe for everyone.
Join FLERA: Luxembourg's Climbing, Hiking, and Mountaineering Hub!
Are you passionate about outdoor adventure, climbing, or helping others find their footing (literally and figuratively)? FLERA—the Luxembourg Federation of Climbing, Hiking, and Mountaineering—might be your perfect match!
Who We Are
Founded in 2000, FLERA aims to inspire a love of climbing and mountaineering while promoting safe, inclusive, and sustainable practices. From beginners to elite athletes, FLERA provides opportunities for all ages and skill levels. We’re also the proud stewards of Luxembourg’s premier climbing site, Berdorf, ensuring it remains a pristine, accessible haven for climbers across Europe.
Why Volunteer with FLERA?
Volunteers are the heartbeat of FLERA, helping us protect climbing sites, host national competitions, and run inclusive training programs. Your contributions could range from ecological clean-ups and event organization to mentoring young climbers or assisting with disability-inclusive initiatives.
What We Do
- Preserve & Manage Climbing Areas: Our volunteers and “Commission Falaise” team maintain safety equipment and run regular clean-up days to keep Berdorf beautiful and accessible.
- Support Competitive & Recreational Climbing: We train athletes for national and international competitions and host the annual National Boulder and Lead Climbing Championships.
- Offer Training & Education: Partnering with Luxembourg’s INAPS, we provide courses for coaches, route setters, and advanced trainers to promote safe and inclusive climbing practices.
- Foster Inclusion: We’re breaking barriers to make climbing accessible for individuals with physical and mental disabilities, working closely with the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee to create adaptive programs.
Be Part of Something Bigger
When you volunteer with FLERA, you become part of a vibrant, supportive community. You’ll contribute to preserving Luxembourg’s natural beauty and help others experience the thrill of reaching new heights—literally and figuratively.
Whether you're a climber, an outdoor enthusiast, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back, FLERA has a place for you. Together, let’s keep climbing, caring, and connecting!
