We create social ties in Kiem through festive, participatory and intercultural events open to all residents.
Kiemer Schof is a non-profit association founded by residents of the Kiem neighbourhood in Kirchberg, a new and multicultural area in full development in Luxembourg. Our mission is to foster community life and create social ties among residents, regardless of age, origin or background.
In a still-developing urban setting that offers few opportunities for casual encounters (no public parks, few local shops…), we organise festive, inclusive and intercultural events throughout the year — by and for the residents.
Our flagship event is the Summer Fest, a big neighbourhood celebration that brings together several hundred people around music, dance, world cuisine, and activities for all ages. Residents themselves propose and run the activities, with strong volunteer involvement. We also collaborate with organisations like Hëllef um Terrain and the Luxembourg Red Cross to involve asylum seekers and refugees living nearby.
Throughout the year, we also organise pop-up bars, crafts, sewing and cooking workshops, and a weekly yoga class open to all levels. These are great opportunities to meet, share, and build lasting connections in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
By volunteering with Kiemer Schof, you’ll help build an open, festive and supportive community, contributing in your own way, at your own pace. Every bit of help counts in making our neighbourhood more vibrant and welcoming.
The Summer Fest is the highlight of the Kiemer Schof association: a big, festive, family-friendly and intercultural neighbourhood celebration held every year in the heart of the Kiem district in Kirchberg.
Our goal? To create a joyful space for residents of the neighbourhood and nearby reception centres to come together and enjoy live music, dancing, world cuisine, kids’ games, participatory activities and more.
But a successful Summer Fest is, above all, a collective adventure, made possible thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers — before, during and after the event!
