The 2024/2025 edition of the Winter Action is organized by the Luxembourg Red Cross, Hëllef um Terrain and Inter-Actions to help the most needy in our society during the period of extreme cold. This action will make it possible to offer homeless people night shelter in the Findel emergency structure.
When and how can we help?
-Day centre: from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for lunch and the restroom of our beneficiaries, every day: preparation and distribution of meals, cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment, support of the educational team for specific activities, etc.
-Night shelter: from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm for the evening meal and from 6:30 am to 9:00 am for the breakfast service, every day: preparation and distribution of meals, cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment, distribution of hygiene articles, support to the educational team, etc.
Why get involved?
Homelessness is affecting an ever-increasing number of vulnerable people in our society. So we're appealing for volunteers who, by their presence, can support the professional team in distributing meals to homeless people and play an active part in the actions put in place as part of the Winter 2024/2025 Action. The team of volunteers from the three organizations that make up the Dräieck ASBL plays an important role. Their mobilisation alongside the professionals on the ground for the beneficiaries is the condition for guaranteeing the smooth running of this humanitarian action. What's more, the warm and caring atmosphere that the volunteers help to instill with their dynamism and motivation also helps those in need. We see this human aspect as one of the pillars of a successful reception and follow-up. We are looking for volunteers who are prepared to make a regular commitment for the duration of the winter program.
