AuPairUnity project The AuPairUnity project aims to facilitate the integration of young people at peer level in Luxembourg by promoting intercultural encounters, offering educational activities and combating loneliness. At the heart of the project are quarterly excursions in the city of Luxembourg and monthly café-rencontres.
As a volunteer Cultural Encounter Facilitator, your role will be crucial to the success of the AuPairUnity project. You will be involved in the following activities:
1. Preparing the session in advance:
● Defining the themes and resources to be used.
● Publication of the dates, times and content of the session.
● Choosing the room according to the number of participants.
● Publication of the meeting room.
2. Preparing the room:
● Divide the room into several groups.
● Printing flags to put on each table for the groups.
● Simple decoration of the room for immersion in the theme.
● Preparation of snacks / pot for the participants.
● Musical background.
3. Preparation of entertainment and activities to improve communication between participants:
● Preparation of small games, at the beginning, to break the ice such as a quiz or a small presentation of each participant.
● Preparation and printing of questions on different themes, for example: studies, cultures, employment, travel, sports, daily life, etc.
● Board games such as Taboo, Trivial, or animation techniques such as the Post-it game, etc.
● Image broadcasting via an overhead projector or a short controversial video to spark debate.
