Objective of the mission

Médecins du Monde is an international medical development organisation, providing medical care to vulnerable people in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and around the world, promoting access and the right to health. Médecins du Monde in Luxembourg is a non-profit organisation, recognised as being of public utility in February 2019.

Presentation of the opportunity for volunteering

MAIN TASKS :
 Welcome patients and identify their needs
 Conduct interviews and refer patients to internal or external consultations
if necessary
 Provide psychological and psychotherapeutic support for MdM patients in
MdM patients who are in a very precarious situation, who are suffering psychologically
or suffering from mental illness.
 This support can be provided on an individual or group basis at the following centres
Bonnevoie and/or Esch-sur-Alzette, as well as in other MdM programmes.
in other MdM programmes such as Maison l'ESCALE
 Carry out psychological assessments and evaluations
Get involved in local actions!
Médecins du Monde Luxembourg is looking for
Volunteer psychologists.
 Collect clinical data and record it in the DSI (healthcare record)
in the DSI (computerised care file)
 Organise follow-ups in collaboration with the multidisciplinary mental health team
(general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse, social worker),
social worker)
 Be prepared to work in co-therapy
 Collaborate with members of other MdM multidisciplinary teams and
medico-psycho-social partners in the network
 Be willing to reflect on your practice through intervision and supervision
 Participate in team meetings and training sessions
 Compliance with the code of ethics for psychologists and psychotherapists (SLP)

YOUR PROFILE :
 Master's degree in clinical psychology or equivalent with diploma recognition
in Luxembourg
 Additional training in psychotherapy would be an asset
 A minimum of a few hours' availability per month
 Flexibility and adaptability
 Willingness to work as part of a multilingual team: French and English are the
the languages most often used with patients. Any other language, particularly
Arabic is an asset.
Difficulty of the job :
 The sometimes extreme distress of people in very precarious situations can make it
mental health intervention difficult.
