LuxCon brings science fiction, fantasy and horror to Luxembourg: an inclusive festival of talks, games, arts and cosplay, run by volunteers to connect communities and celebrate imagination.
LuxCon is Luxembourg’s national Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror convention. Its mission is to promote speculative fiction and the cultures of the imagination in all their forms, including literature, comics, film, TV series, role‑playing games, board games, video games, illustration and artistic creation.
Run by a dedicated volunteer team, LuxCon provides a friendly and inclusive space where people of all ages can discover, share and experience their passions. The convention features talks and panels, meetings with authors and creators, exhibitions, screenings, workshops and interactive gaming activities.
LuxCon actively supports local and cross‑border creativity by highlighting artists, associations, publishers and initiatives from Luxembourg and the Greater Region. It aims to foster intercultural and intergenerational exchange, challenge stereotypes about genre fiction, and offer a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone.
By bringing together fans, newcomers and professionals, LuxCon strengthens Luxembourg’s cultural landscape, supports community life and offers volunteers a meaningful opportunity to gain experience in teamwork, event organisation and civic engagement.
Volunteers are essential to the success of LuxCon. They welcome visitors at the box office and information desks, support service at the bars, and look after the overall well‑being of both attendees and exhibitors throughout the event. They help people find their way, answer practical questions, manage visitor flows and contribute to a friendly, respectful atmosphere. By working closely with the organising team, volunteers help create a positive experience for everyone while developing their own skills in communication, problem‑solving and teamwork.
