Presentation of the opportunity for volunteering

Since 2011, the “Notre Communauté” program has been implemented in primary schools across Luxembourg. It enables children to discover how their municipality functions, which professions contribute to quality of life in society, and how collective decisions are made.

Through five teaching units, students explore:
- How the municipality works and the different professions within it
- The concept of production (using the example of a bakery)
- The role of government and taxes
- Collective decision-making
- Money and banks

The program is delivered by volunteers from the business community who share their professional experience and help students connect school learning with working life.

Today, “Notre Communauté” reaches around 900 students in about fifteen primary schools. To continue growing and offer this experience to even more children, we are currently looking for volunteers from the business and professional community who are ready to share their experience and expertise with young people across Luxembourg. Your commitment will help inspire the next generation and support them in developing active citizenship and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Our commitments to our volunteers:
- Personalized support
- Prior training
- All necessary teaching materials provided for classroom sessions
- Great flexibility in scheduling your availability
- Meaningful recognition of your volunteer commitment, valued within our educational community

Volunteer availability: 5 sessions of 50–60 minutes per class (flexible weekday schedule)
Accessibility: wheelchair accessible depending on the school
Languages: Luxembourgish – German – French (depending on the school)
Location: flexible according to the volunteer’s availability; primary schools across all regions of the country

Joining Notre Communauté means contributing to a meaningful educational project while enriching your own professional journey and building strong human connections throughout the country.
