Premier Secours Ordre de Malte Luxembourg asbl
PLACER L’ESPÉRANCE AU CŒUR DE LA VIE DES PLUS PRÉCAIRES !
As part of our commitment to vulnerable people, we are looking for motivated volunteers to strengthen our hospital visitation service (CHL). Volunteers will regularly visit hospitalized patients, giving their time to listen and share moments with them.
The role requires a very open mind towards people from a wide variety of backgrounds who find themselves in extremely vulnerable situations. A respectful and tolerant attitude towards the Catholic religion is also expected, although belonging to this faith is by no means a selection criterion.
A mandatory two-morning training course on various topics related to the organization of the CHL and subjects such as patient support is an integral part of the application process. To facilitate integration, the first visits are conducted in pairs. Once comfortable with the mission, volunteers can then visit patients alone to offer a listening ear, a presence, and a moment of human interaction.
Desired profile:
• You enjoy human contact and know how to establish a climate of trust
• You demonstrate empathy, patience, and a great ability to listen
• You are open-minded and comfortable with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• You are respectful and tolerant of all religions and beliefs
• You know how to be discreet and sensitive in situations that can sometimes be delicate
• You want to make a regular and responsible commitment
• You are willing to offer your time, presence, and genuine attention
What we offer
• An enriching human experience
• A caring and respectful environment
• The opportunity to contribute to access to reading for all
• Encounters with people from all walks of life
