HALTO is a solidarity-based network in Luxembourg for informal carers, supporting people with disabilities or chronic illnesses, regardless of diagnosis, in a private caregiving context.

Presentation of our organisation

HALTO is an association created by people directly concerned, for people directly concerned. It addresses informal carers in the private sphere – parents, family members or close relatives – who support a person with a disability, impairment or chronic illness, independently of any specific diagnosis.
HALTO emerged from lived experience and the concrete needs of carers. The association offers a human, caring and non-judgmental framework where people can take a pause, connect with others and find support, without pressure or obligation.
Its activities are structured around four complementary pillars.
CareMeet provides spaces for meeting and peer exchange.
CareShare focuses on sharing experiences, information and useful resources.
CareSupport offers human guidance and accompaniment in everyday administrative or practical matters.
CareBreak creates moments of respite through the involvement of volunteers.
HALTO aims to be an accessible and respectful solidarity network that values mutual support between people facing similar life situations and helps strengthen informal carers in their role.

Our next event

HALTO plans to organise a first informal gathering in spring.
This initial meeting is conceived as an open and low-threshold moment, allowing informal carers to meet, exchange and become familiar with the initiative.
It is part of a start-up phase and primarily aims to create connection, in a spirit of simplicity, listening and kindness.
