Slow Food Grand-Duché is a Slow Food Convivium. Our members care about Good, Clean and Fair Food. They also think very important to put an end to the decline of Biodiversity, to raise awareness on how our food choices have an impact on the planet...

Presentation of our organisation

Slow Food Grand-Duché is a non-profit "green" organization active in Luxembourg since 2013.
We are part of the Slow Food International Movement created in 1989 to counteract the growing negative effects of fast food and fast life.
Slow Food Grand-Duché is entirely organised and run by volunteers.
A steering Committee of 5 members meets periodically to coordinate the Convivium's activities.
If we should describe concisely our goals, we could say that we work for a world where everybody can have access to:
• good food that is tasty and healthy
• clean food that does not harm the environment
• fair food for those who produce it and for consumers who buy it.

Our next event

The purpose of the Association is to:
- promote the philosophy of the Slow Food movement in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and in the Greater Region, working towards a sustainable food system and a gastronomy that respects the environment and traditions.
- develop a local network of individuals who share the principles of Slow Food and work to spread them;
- develop the organized presence of the Movement by increasing the number of registrations;
- establish relationships and collaborations with public bodies, gastronomic associations, consortia and producer associations, communication bodies, etc. to contribute to the development of a sustainable food system and knowledge of food production;
- collaborate with other associations or organizations for the protection of the environment and respect for nature, a necessary condition for the safeguarding of the gastronomic heritage and the defense and promotion of traditional knowledge and popular cultures;
- establish and maintain friendly collaborative relationships with other Conviviums;
- carry out activities to promote and support the national and international projects and programs of the Movement.
- promote and/or support cultural activities aimed at promoting gastronomic culture or at strengthening the bonds of friendship between all residents, regardless of their origins.
- promoting the right of everyone to good, clean and fair food, which has flavor, which takes into account ecologically sustainable modes of production/distribution/consumption, and which defends social justice and the dignity of all actors in the food chain;
- promoting a different quality of life, based on respect for natural rhythms, the environment and consumer health, by encouraging the consumption and enjoyment of the highest quality food possible;
- the promotion, organization, operation of and participation in educational activities aimed at the full application of the right to health education, education of the senses and taste and the development of a proper food culture;
