Presentation of the opportunity for volunteering

The vacation trips take place in Luxembourg and abroad. During these stays, there are usually 6 to 7 people with an autism spectrum disorder, 6 to 7 volunteers like you and 2 educators from FAL. The ratio is 1:1. One volunteer takes care of one person with autism from the time they get up until they go to bed. The goal is to guarantee a great vacation for the person with autism, by respecting his/her rhythm, interests and desires, by encouraging his/her autonomy, by taking care of his/her well-being and by offering quality supervision during meals, free activities or structured activities, help with domestic activities, etc. It is important to know that some are more emotionally vulnerable than others and have more difficulty controlling their emotions. Our educational staff knows how to handle these delicate situations and has the techniques and methods to soften the situation.
