Thanks to the support of volunteers, organisations are able to carry out their missions in favour of many different opportunities and audiences. There is no legal status for volunteers in Luxembourg. However, the Charte du Bénévolat of the Agence du Bénévolat defines a volunteer as "someone who commits himself/herself of his/her own free will, without receiving any remuneration in the monetary sense of the term, to an action in the service of a third party or the community".
